FOT-assessments

Functional Capacity Assessments

Our occupational therapists provide comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments to evaluate your physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities. These assessments are designed to determine how your disability or health condition impacts your daily life and to guide NDIS planning, funding applications, and tailored support plans.

We work with people of all ages, from children to older adults, ensuring our recommendations are practical, person-centred, and achievable in real life.

What a Functional Capacity Assessment Covers

The assessment looks at several components, including:

  • Physical Abilities – strength, mobility, balance, coordination, endurance
  • Cognitive Skills –  memory, attention, problem-solving, decision-making
  • Emotional Wellbeing – how mental health affects daily participation
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – dressing, bathing, eating, grooming
  • Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) – cooking, cleaning, transport, managing money
